SOLUTION
Cancer is a leading cause of death worldwide, accounting for an estimated 10 million deaths in 2020[1], or nearly one in six; and whilst common in the developed world, what is less recognized and understood is the significant growth of cancer across the global south. A mere two decades or so ago, the percentage of new cases was similar across regions. Today, almost two-thirds of new cases arise in low- and middle-income nations and this could reach 70% by 2050.
Treatment for cancer is expensive and access to affordable medicines and therapies is one of the key challenges that needs to be address and Jameel Health, together with our partners, are ready to play our part.
